Happy New Year!

The New Year Cruise aboard Pacific Dawn was excellent. This was the first cruise we had been on. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and plan to go again. The hospitality and service of the staff was exceptional. A special thanks to our waiters Cris and Jessie. The boys enjoyed Shark Shack and HQ. A big thanks to the Shark Shack and HQ crew. We enjoyed the activities such as high tea, shuffleboard and quoits. The shore tours were enjoyable and culturally educational.

PACIFIC DAWN TOTAL RIP OFF CRUISE
Well all I can say is that the Cruise I have just came back from was the worst cruising experiance that I have ever encountered in my many years of travelling the world.
I was looking forward to the 11Night Tasmanian Wonders Cruise departing Brisbane on Jan 30 2010 Cruise W005N.

The Ship had leaking seals on the propeller shafts and should have never been permitted to depart Brisbane, P&O put my and 1700 other peoples lives and safety at risk .

The Pommy Captain “Wells” thought he was a bit of a comedian and was making downgrading remarks about Australia and its people, anyone would think he was the captain of a prision ship heading from England to the Penal colony of Australia.

The Ship had a major defect and Divers were aboard the ship when it departed Brisbane, P&O Knew that the damage could not be repaired in the 31 hours allocated ,but they allowed the ship to Depart brisbane fully knowing that they would not be able to abide by the itinerary that the ship was supposed to provide.

The ship was delayed until 1900 hours ….The 31 Hours turned into 50 hours and the Itinerary was totally ruined for all on board.

Everyone was looking forward to their scenic cruise along the eastern coast of Tasmania and cruising Wine Glass/ Oyster Bay ,this sector became a night time cruise……late arrival into Burnie caused further cancellation of tours and travelling plans for all the passengers……The defective ship broke down twice whilst crossing Bass Straight and we were left to drift on two occassions with out any Engines , first occassion was at 2247hours then again at 0219 hours .

This delay caused the late arrival into Melbourne and futher tour cancellations………………..Great Rip Off P&O the $25.00 CREDIT TO OUR SHIP BOARD ACCOUNT WILL NOT KEEP ME QUIET.
YOU MUST THINK AUSTRALIANS ARE AN EASY TIUCH AND WILL PUT UP WITH ANYTHING…….GUESS WHAT…..?????

For goodness sake, do you really think P&O would deliberately put people in danger? You want to be careful what you are accusing people of! You are just after compensation – deserved or not.

Yes Sandee many of us believe that P & O would do anything for the almighty buck. The cruising to Eastern Tasmania held great significance for our touring guests, 4, and that can not be refunded. Do you work for P & O or did you not have your eyes open while on board. Please see my article just published in articles base along with Michael’s.

Been reading all news papers (online & print) and have been watching all commercial networks news services and have seen DIDDLY SQUAT on complaints made about the PACIFIC DAWN’s Tassie cruise………will you hurry up then, I’m waiting for a good laugh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!……….

Do you honestly think that a state / federal govt department would care what you have to say…just ask PETE “BATTMAN GARRETT…He’s the world leader in not caring about anything.
Looks like there are more important things going on in the world at the moment for the media networks to worry about. than what’s in your little world.

buddy, you need a reality check

I was on the same Cruise, Sandee. It is now a few weeks since we returned & I have to tell you I will never cruise with P&O ever again. No amount of money can make up for what my husband & I missed out on. The cruise should have been cancelled till the ship was repaired. 3 of our 6 ports of call were ruined. That means half of our cruise was a disaster, all because P&O do their running repairs while cruising……..money, money. What about peoples dream holiday. We had saved for 2 years to have that dream holiday…. We had never cruised or been to Tasmania. Will P&O give us what we worked hard for…………no. They don’t care. We are not winging for the sake of it……..we feel robbed.

PO Dawn is now preparing for a trip to hurricane ravished fiji.
all shore tours are cancelled.. they are departing from brisbane, wher e all the seas are huge due to the expected cyclone ..
if this is not putting passengers at risk?? apart from rough seas and sea sickness. what fun when even the live shows have to be cancelled. also dumping passengers on islands. i.e . isle of pines. with no proper sanitation other than an old tin shed , is a complete disregard .of the health of passengers, no its just not on , time our goverment took action.

We have a great deal of concern for the safety and health of our passengers, and have no interest in putting them in risky situations.
