Bula Everyone
Well we have just finished a great 14 night cruise where we were lucky enough to go to several ports in Fiji as well as to Vanuatu and New Caledonia. I was very lucky to go ashore in the beautiful Fijian spot of Port Denarau with a few other crew from the ship and what a beautiful place it is. Crystal clear water, a lot of nice places to eat and shops too, what a dream. We explored the area on the “bula bus” which was great fun and we all came back with shopping bags , how naughty , but it is the end of the month , it is allowed……..
The last two weeks onboard Pacific Dawn has been a great adventure and all the different ports had their own special touches. We are now on an adventure around the South Pacific. So watch this pace for some new exciting adventures onboard and ashore on the Pacific Dawn.

Hi Jane
The “bula bus” – does that meet you where we get off the ship? Do we have to pay Fijian or Aus $?
We are sailing on PD on 20 March (69 day and counting) and were wondering how to get around the island.
Cheers
Chris
Chris,
When you get off the ship at Port Denarau, head left and ask someone to show you where the Bula Bus leaves from – and you pay $3 Australian and get on and off at all the resorts e.g. Sheraton, Radisson, Westin, Sofitel – you can look around the resorts – and swim and shop – and then get on the next Bula Bus which comes by every 10 minutes or so. The shops at the Port are good – there is a Hard Rock Cafe where we had a beer – and lots of eating places, a post office (I sent home some postcards) and everything is quite cheap. Great performance by the natives and photo opportunities when you get off the ship. You will enjoy it all. The tender ride takes about 20 minutes. You will love it.
$6 fijian dollars. We got a taxi into Nadi shopping town. It was a sunday so only a few shops were open. We paid &12 one way for 4 of us.
Thanks Ladies, really appreciate your info. We are definitely looking forward to a new Island for us that we have not yet explored.
Cheers
