Pacific Dawn at Sunrise

This is a great photo taken last week of Pacific Dawn passing under the Harbour Bridge as she arrived in Sydney at around 6am.   The photo was taken by one of our Head Office staff members, Bruce Peters, and was so good we thought we would share it with you.

What a great photo with the Harbour bridge & Opera House in the pic. I would love to cruise out of Sydney as the Harbour would look fantastic from the ship. Cruising from Brisbane all you see is the Gateway bridge. If Bruce Peters has more photos please put them on the blog for us all to see.

What a fantastic photo. I have been on the Dawn, what a spectacular ship, this photo only makes it even better and Sydney is a beautiful harbour to sail into even better to sail out of. We have put this photo on our computer as our screen saver. Only 109 days till we go on the Dawn again.

Can anyone tell me how much it is to hire a pager on board for when your child is in the kids room?

  • Bella

Such a beautiful photo! And the weather for the sailaway that afternoon was fantastic, we were so lucky! Its a shame that she doesnt get to cruise under the Bridge for her final cruise out of Sydney for the repositioning cruise

  • Rose Bros

    Hi Kay
I’m just off the Dawn. The pagers are free. They issue you one for the whole cruise but if you loose it you have to pay a $50 fine.
    Hope this helps

Such an AMAZING picture and I was on the ship at the time too. I’d love to get a copy of this one :)

We were also on the Dawn when this photo was taken. We were so lucky – we had a beautiful sunset on the 11th July when we sailed out and this gorgeous sunrise when we sailed back. It eased the pain slightly – having to return to Sydney – we do have the most amazing harbour.

I’d also really love to have a good copy of this pic.

    Hello,

What has happened to your previous bolg site? I miss the free flowing comments from the excited pre-cruisers to the informative x-cruisers. It has been a wealth of information for me, one of those excited pre-cruisers.

Also I have been eagerly anticipating the Dawn virtual tour but what you have in its place is not helpful at all and not a virtual tour. I was expecting something similar to the virtual tour we can enjoy of the Pacific Sun.

I spend heaps of time on the P&O Dawn site (my favourite “favourite”)even though our cruise is exactly one year away today.

    Thank you
    Carolyn

We concur with your comments exactly Carolyn. This is our frist cruise ever and we are leaving 17/08. We have found the blogs very useful, with tips that we would never have thought of. It is a shame that those blogs have disappeared, so close to our trip.

We check to see where the Dawn is every day, and are really excited about the trip. Already talking about another one, (even before we go) thanks to the messages we have read on the blog, but am disappointed that the log has 'sailed'.

Hi All, I miss the original site as well, getting to talk to different people. I used to turn my computer on each morning to see if there were any new blogs. Very dissappointed it has gone and no more emails to alert us to a new message. Would be delighted if they could give it back to us.

I too miss the old blog site, and like the other comments, I look up the P & O website every morning to check on what is new. I am grateful to hear that I am not the only one doing this as my trip is in March 10 and I cann't wait, so I scourer the net for pictures and info on the Dawn. It would be great if we could have a virtual tour of the ship.
    Regards

Hi guys if you click on the facebook tag above you will see a lot more blogs on the dawn facebook page then if you are a facebook user u can log in and blog away I hope this helps

  • Narelle

I am a mirror image of all of the comments made. I was a huge fan and had made friends with a fellow passenger going on the same cruise in December.
To all anticipating their next cruise, whether it be first timers or returning, I wish you all happy sailing and enjoy.
We will be on the Dawn, the first trip from Brisbane on the 19th December.
    130 days to go.

Just wondering why there is no parking at the ternmals for cars???

  • Donald

I’m leaving from Melbourne for Newzealand, for 14 days & find there is no parking for my car at the docks!!! where do I leave it.

  • Jen

Hi Donald, I’m leaving my car at Brisbane Airport. They have weekly rates that you can look up on their website. Maybe you could look up Sydney Airport or try parking in Sydney website. Crown Casino is opposite the international terminal that ships leave from maybe they have weekly parking. I’m sure P & O have some parking information on where to park in Sydney.

  • Jen

Try “find parking in Melbourne”, maybe you can type in street dock it in to find the closest parking. Find undercover security parking in Melbourne. Or just ring P & O as they should have details of all these things.

We were on the Pacific Dawn on 31/8/09 to New Caledonia. The holiday was amazing. I was wondering if I can get a “Pacific Dawn Scrapbook album”. The crew told us there were none delivered on board at the time. Please let me know. I was very disappointed

    Thanks and Regards,
    Jill

I leave on 15/11 for our cruise so very excited the kids are counting the days down. Where on the website do you find where the ship is currently. I am new to this so any info is appreciated.
