My name is Tom Green and I am the Sports Coordinator onboard Pacific Dawn. Pacific Dawn has been home since March this year and I have been working on cruise ships since October 2007. I love to travel and life at sea means I get to work and see the world at the same time – what a life!

While enjoying all the amazing food onboard our ships, it’s a great idea to stay fit and active while at sea.

Here are some great ideas to get you moving…

  • Enrol in P&O Cruises’ Bootcamp at Sea for an intense workout and great results.
  • Join me for the daily walks/runs around Deck 14.
  • Use the stairs instead of the lifts. Try walking from Deck 5 up to Deck 14 at least once a day!
  • Take part in the beach sport activities at the various South Pacific Island. We play beach cricket, volleyball and tug-of-war.
  • Pacific Dawn’s gym run fitness classes including Spin, pilates, yoga and stretch.
stretch

Bootcamp recruits stretch after an intensive workout.

volleyball

Beach Volleyball at Isle of Pines.

Come and find me onboard if you would like to know what other activities are available on your cruise!

Hi, myself and my family will be going on the Dawn in November and are very much looking forward to it as it will be our first cruise. I was wondering if you could please advise of the cost of the Bootcamp sessions and also the cost of the Spin classes and the hours the gym and sauna are open. Kind regards, Tanya

  • Kym

    Hi Tanya,

A friend recently returned from the Dawn brought back the newsletters you get. Some info in there about your queries. Boot camp, morning stretch, abs blaster, bums/legs/thighs,total body conditioning don’t have a price beside them, so I would assume free. Fitball ($11), Indoor cycling ($11), pathway to pilates ($11). Sorry didn’t read anywhere about hours for the gym/sauna.

Tanya – just back from the 28 Day cruise with Pacific Dawn, this was also my first cruise (loved it) and did join the bootcamp sessions. First session is free, then next 4 days are $50. These bootcamp sessions are only held on “sea days”.
Unsure of gym hours, i know there were people there very early in the morning. The gym is located level 2, mid-ship.
    You’ll have a blast. Doug

Vivian – just back from 28 days. Average temp was 25 degrees, defintely hot enough to swim and sunbake. It’s the coming back which is the drag this time of year.

    Hey Tom and cruisers,
Read on the net that many cruise gym classes get booked out for the cruise in the first day. Does this happen on Pacific Dawn too?? Would you advise booking our prefered classes etc when we first get on board so we do not miss out, or is it safe to book on a day to day basis ??
    Thanks,
    Katie
